Hyssop

Hyssop was a plant mentioned several times in the Old Testament. Moses told the children of Israel to dip a hyssop branch in blood and wipe it on the door frame of their homes as a sign to God to bypass them in the plague of the death of the firstborn. Wild goats are common in the hills of Israel.

Ossuarie

These stone boxes are called Ossuaries and contain the bones of Jews. After a body decomposes the bones are gathered together and put in a stone box. The stone box is then moved to another location. Hence the term "bones gathered to the fathers". Stone was used because Jews felt that stone was clean even in contact with dead bones.
