CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL SEMINAR
WHAT: A day long seminar with classes about how Christians can use the computer and the Internet to better teach Sunday School, special classes for teachers of Primary, Junior and Adult class teachers.
WHEN: April 23, 2005 - 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
WHERE: Church of Christ - 1805 W. Sycamore Street, Carbondale, Illinois. Carbondale is located 2 hours from St. Louis, 3.5 hours from Nashville, TN, 4 hours from Memphis, TN and 2.5 hours from Evansville, Indiana and 5 hours South of Chicago. (see map link below) This seminar is a program primarily designed for local churches but we know that some people may want to drive in and stay overnight.
WHO: The program is primarily designed for Christian leaders, preachers and Sunday School teachers who use computers.
COST: Free. Donations welcome to help pay for Break snacks and Lunch. This seminar is basically being done at cost. Pre-registration is being encouraged to help us know how many people for which to plan. Please give us a general idea of what classes you expect to attend so that we can make preparations.
We really intend for this to be an informal seminar for local communities but some people tell us that they want to drive in and stay overnight. Click below for map, hotel and city information:
GENERAL SESSIONS:
- "Jesus the Master Teacher" - Terry Taylor of eBibleTeacher.com talks about how to teach like the master teacher and really unlock your teaching potential.
PLANNED CLASSES: This is an informal seminar, topics are subject to CHANGE!
We will have special classes for Primary and Junior grade teachers by Kim Dailey and Adult teachers by Terry Taylor. Kim's lessons will be for both teachers that use computers and those that don't. Terry's classes will primarily focus on those that use video projectors in class or sermons.

The 6 levels of comprehension and what questions elicit/determine where our students are. How to be more effective in teaching.
TERRY TAYLOR: "COOL NEW WAYS TO TEACH" How to use that new video projector for more than just PowerPoint.
CLASS 2 KIM DAILEY: "LEARNING STYLES"
Speaking their Language
Six ways people learn, how to incorporate those styles into our lessons, and how to preempt behavior problems that stem from underserved learning styles.
TERRY TAYLOR: "POWERFUL POWERPOINT" How to save time AND improve your PowerPoint material.
CLASS 3 (after lunch) KIM DAILEY: "LESSON PLANNING"
Using Digital Resources: suggested resources and adaptation techniques, with hands-on samples.
TERRY TAYLOR: "POWERPOINT - ADVANCED" Advanced techniques in PowerPoint. Cool new things to do in PowerPoint.
- Special Luncheon: The luncheon will be "lunch and learn" which will be a show and tell variety program conducted while we eat. (Bring something relating to using technology in the church to tell about! - please limit to 3 to 5 minutes)
- Panel Discussion: The panel discussion will be a combined session in which our group of experts will answer questions.
