![]() Message: Our worship software review page lists some 11 software packages for churches to use to display song lyrics in worship. What software does your church use? If you know why that software was selected then please say why. |
Tommy D Dickison 6/13/2000 12:19:06 | ![]() Message: We reviewed several packages and decided on SongShow. SongShow seemed to be the easiest to use. It requires just a few minutes to train someone to display the songs once you have a Program List setup. One big short come is the SlideShow capabilities. We are use to using PowerPoint with all of its capabilities and SongShow does not have any where near PowerPoint capabilites. The next version(4.0) of SongShow is supposed to have "vastly improved" SlideShow capabilities. Until then we will use PowerPoint 2000 for all our sermon notes and announcements. To be fair, I plan on taking a second look at some of the other software packages. We may have been in too big of a rush to get something going, to have given a fair review. |
bob gordon 6/29/2000 20:51:46 | ![]() Message: We have been using Power point since we started 11/98 projecting our lyrics and sermon notes. I never thought about there being another software that could be used. I came to this site during a search for powerpoint backgrounds |
eBibleTeacher 7/01/2000 11:53:50 | ![]() Message: Based on responses I have had it appears to me that many churches are still using PowerPoint. I was very surprised to find that there are at least 12 software products specifically written to handle the projection of music lyrics. The nice thing about it is that a lot of these companies allow you to download and try out their software for free. |
Mike Ballard 7/16/2000 17:31:25 | ![]() Message: We use Presentation Creator (www.freeindeed.com)The program is easy to use and builds Powerpoint slides quick and easy. |
brschool 7/18/2000 17:30:58 | ![]() Message: The url for Presentation Creator that is listed in one of the messages is incorrect. It is www.freeindeed.org. Though it might help someone find it easier. David |
James Thomas 8/11/2000 10:02:33 | ![]() Message: We are keen to get going but have a special need. Our church is growing a ministry to the deaf. Up to now we have used an OHP with a knitting needle to point out each word as it is spoken or sung. The deaf love being so involved in the worship. We have just aquired a projector. Is there any software available that will be able to highlight the word being spoken/sung. Help please!! |
David Adkins 8/14/2000 09:23:35 | ![]() Message: re deaf We use projector and powerpoint at this time. One of our members uses a laser pointer under the words as we sing. This works great for us until we can find something better. regards David |
David Adkins 10/01/2000 00:12:51 | ![]() Message: As users of PowerPoint for our Bible classes and sermons, we were looking for a program with which to use with displaying songs. I looked at several of the ones that were around and found some of them did not work for us, most were in the overkill region. I then came across PowerWorship and find this program to be much more suited to meet our needs, it is easy to setup and use. We have used it for the past few weeks without problem and once we get all our songs put into the song section I see that we will be able to setup our song list in no time at all and very quickly make those last minute changes quickly something which can be done with PowerWorship with the minimum of effort. I also liked the ease of use song editor for putting in the songs. PowerWorship can be downloaded at http://www.powerworship.ws |
Craig Gephart 12/05/2000 10:43:46 | ![]() Message: I've been using Worship Assistant for several months. It's a fairly capable program and has quite a few nice features. As a guitarist, the biggest draw for me is the way it handles guitar tab and the variety of ways you can present the TAB. Its a breeze to create songsheets, leadsheets, songbooks, overheads, slideshows, with OR without the TAB. Worship Assistant also does a great job of easily transposing the TAB. It's easy to create and save "sets" for your services, maintain info on your worship team and record CCLI usage. There's quite a bit of flexibility built into this program. While the slide presentation end is not nearly as capable as PowerPoint, it does a reasonably good job, but the developer seems very open to suggestions. Lastly, I feel I need to mention the support from the developer and genuine interest in what users would like to see added. I've typically received e-mail support within 24 hours. It's nice to feel a personalized touch coming from a software developer. www.worshipassistant.com |
