Levels of Learning:
What can students of different ages understand and how to we pull
them to higher levels on comprehension? Specific techniques to know whether your
class "got it".
Learning Styles:
People learn best in different ways. Teaching to those different
styles can increase comprehension, prevent behavior problems, add
variety, and aid the teacher in preparing lessons. You can
incorporate these ideas into any class!
Preventing Behavior Problems:
How to define boundaries, pre-empt problems and effectively
guide students toward better behavior.
Lesson Planning Techniques:
Specific tips and techniques that take work out of lesson
planning and save your creative juices for the really important part
- teaching kids about God! Tools to help you adapt your lesson
activities, save valuable material for reuse, and utilize the
digital resources available for your class.
Digital Resources:
Enhance your material with quality clip art, useful ideas,
interactive media, and printable worksheets. We'll review the best
Sunday School web sites and discuss some commercial products.
Making Your Own Material:
Samples of a multitude of class materials you can make at home
with basic office supplies. Tips for getting the most of your time
and money, and adapting the ideas to your class.
Hands On Practice:
We end the workshop with a hands-on session where you put into
practice all the techniques we've discussed.
About the Teacher
Kim Dailey has been a Sunday School teacher for
over 15 years, and is the author of the web site,
SundaySchoolSources.com, which shares free Sunday School lessons,
graphics and teaching tips. The site has been online for ten years
and has an average page rank of #2 in Google for the search "Sunday
School" and #1 in the world for educational Bible Trading cards. The
site has had over 1 million visitors, and averages over 12,000 page
views a day. The site reaches teachers all over the world. Every
week Kim receives email from missionaries, Sunday School teachers,
and homeschooling Mom's from around the world who use the material
to augment their classes.
Sponsoring a Workshop
Interested in sponsoring a workshop? Kim Dailey is
available to come to your location to host a day long workshop on
teaching Sunday School. The workshop focuses on practical concepts
and techniques that are applicable for classes of all ages. Session
topics include the ones listed above, but are customized to fit your
situation and curriculum. Each participant receives many hand-outs
and tools to take home and remind them of what they've learned.
Kim is available for a speaking fee and travel
